Yet we have also thought of them as our downfall as well at least since 1920 when Karel Capek wrote a play about a robot apocalypse. Just a mere 12 years later Japan created one of the first toy robots to hit the market. The robot was only 15cm (6 inches) tall and made out of tin. you would wind it up and then the bot would walk.
